What does being a mum mean to you?

Nan: "Everything... it's the best thing ever "
Mum: “Having a daughter, a bestie, love, and a beautiful family unit.”
Nan: “and a DIL that is your bestie”

What is special about your mum?

This opportunity acknowledges Mum and Nan. Both are the pillars in my life that keep me grounded, remind me of my core values and are the reason I am who I am. The way they love me has informed me growing up, to find and lean into what I love, it has allowed me to become an adult on my own terms, to know I can deal with adversity, to understand how much power there is in loving others and how much that can carry people forward. What is special, is the way they have loved me has been influential throughout my whole life. Our bond is something - I'm so proud that others notice "how close I am to family" and the "relationship I have" with them. What is special is to be seen, accepted and loved by them, not to mention have one hell of a time when we are together. All these things I feel so deeply, so much so I have ink that represents each of these women somewhere on my body.
