Wendy Hannah: Camellia Project NZ

  • Howick Information Centre 91 Picton Street Auckland, Auckland, 2014 New Zealand (map)

A salute to the heroines from the past!

Artist Wendy Hannah is making one of the largest chandelier installations in NZ out of recycled bottles. A community art installation celebrating women. A salute to the heroines from the past, the camellias are the symbol of the Suffrage Movement and 31872 Sparkling Jeweled Camellias will hang from the installation.

Throughout a two week period, Wendy delivered drop-in sessions at the Howick Information Centre where the community came together to help create the Chandelier installation. The artwork will be installed in a secret location during the month of September so check back to see where and when.

This was an Arts Out East project supported by Te Tuhi and Howick Local Board
