Megan Murphy is a multi media artist and has been running MEGANZ School of Visual Arts art school from her studio in Howick, Auckland since 2007. Megan works in drawing (traditional and contemporary drawing exercises, character development, cartoons, children’s book Illustration, perspective drawing, portraiture, landscapes, still-life, abstracts etc.); acrylic, oil and water colour painting; and clay and mixed media sculpture.
She encourage students to research their chosen subject through the use of a visual diary to record sketches, thoughts and ideas, collect information/images, etc.
Students can begin classes any time throughout the year, start from any level of ability and work at their own pace on their own themes. The school also provides assistance to college students with their art-boards and to gather work for University portfolios.
MEGANZ SVA is aimed at students from age 9 through to adults. Course numbers are limited to eight students per class and run during school terms.
