Weaving with Paia Swanson Terepo for Matariki in the heart of Howick.

Nā tō rourou, nā tāku rourou, ka ora ai te tangata! With your food basket, and my food basket, the People will thrive!

Paia Swanson Terepo delivered two raranga (weaving) workshops at Te Whare o Matariki o Owairoa. The theme was about Whanaungatanga, engaging community through Te Ao Māori wānanga. Attendees were taught how to make a take home kete from scratch, in an immersive Marae environment.

These were prime opportunities for the community to come together to learn, participate and celebrate Taonga and the importance of Te Whare Wānanga o Owairoa to the East Auckland community.
