Paia Swanson Terepo: Kotahi te Raranga

  • Te Whare Wananga o Owairoa 37 Uxbridge Road Auckland, Auckland, 2014 New Zealand (map)

A woven journey of Te Ao Maori during Matariki at Te Whare Wananga o Owairoa.

Paia Swanson Terepo (Nga Puhi) has been the weaving program facilitator at Te Whare Wananga o Owairoa for the past 5 years and her weaving and teaching experience spans 20+ years both locally and internationally.

As a part of this year’s Matariki Festival, Kotahi te Raranga was an intimate weaving/raranga workshop, Korowai with Whaea Paia and Harakeke with Whaea Jennifer. Participants experienced a sense of connection, meditation and wellbeing throughout the workshop, leaving them wanting more! Fortunately, take home raranga kits and resources were provided, allowing them to continue their personal journey with the art, from the comfort of their own home.

“He aha te mea nui mo tenei Ao, he tangata, he tangata, he tangata!!”
