Briana Woolliams’ artistic practice incorporates poetry, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, performance and text-based works. Her work has been exhibited around Aotearoa, including galleries such as All Press, Tacit and Malcolm Smith Gallery. Briana has been awarded Merit and The Peoples Choice Awards for the 2019 Estuary Art and Ecology Prize; the Auckland University Todd Trust Scholarship for Fine Art (2018), and the Denise Gerard Scholarship (2016).
Since graduating with a Master of Fine Arts (first-class honours) at Elam School of Fine Arts, she has worked for art institutions, fostering her passion for working with people. Her various arts roles in public engagement and education have her work with a variety of children, youth and other community groups.
